Dare I say it? We're settled...

My apologies for the lack of posts here lately. See, Matt (unfortunately) had to start working on Saturdays which means our weekends have been less exciting...and while we have been keeping busy, we haven't really done anything blog worthy. Well, unless you count sitting on our balcony for 2 hours on Saturday night watching countless Lamborghini's pull into the parking lot of the night club below us, all with the help of our binoculars (and don't worry, if you're reading this and you live in our complex, we definitely don't look through your windows...I mean, that would just be creepy and weird...right? Even if it was only once? Ha! Just kidding, I promise). OK, where am I even going with this? To be honest, I have no idea...but in a sad attempt to appease my blog-loving audience, here's a little glimpse into this past fun filled weekend we had :-)

Saturday night was all about a casual date night - dinner and a movie! We're up to our ears in noodles and rice so we decided to treat ourselves to a good ol' American dinner at Chilis! This is the only one on the island, so yes, taking a picture of their sign was obviously a must.

I guess its not cool to look overly happy about chips and salsa. But trust me, he was totally giddy after the camera was turned off.

I have no shame about expressing my joy over a cheeseburger at Chilis. They serve USDA beef - its a taste of home! Who wouldn't smile over that?!

Sunday night was all about a Mexican fiesta at la casa de Gipson...

...and a fiesta is never fun without friends! That's Lisa on the left and Cara in the middle.

If you pass through our door, you WILL play Guitar Hero. There's no better way to waste 3 hours of your time!

  1. I found your blog through Katy Smith's -- we are in the Nearly/Newlywed class at WUBC with them. I lived in Singapore throughout highschool so your posts are very interesting to me :-) Is the Chili's at Boat Quay? There used to be one on Orchard near Tanglin Mall. I also recommend Dan Ryan's Chicago Grill on Tanglin Road for more Western food and there's a Tony Roma's just off Orchard near the Waterford store & Wisma Atria... might be on Claymore Road, it's very close to the American Club. I'm glad you are enjoying Singapore -- I haven't been back since 1998 but I still miss it!!

  2. Hello! The Chilis is actually inside Tanglin Mall. It just opened back in June and its always crowded. We've actually been to Dan Ryans! Maybe we'll check out Tony Roma's when we get our next craving for American food. Glad you are enjoying the blog!

  3. Now it's been a really long time, but there used to be a grocery store in the basement of the building across the street from Tony Roma's...it was called Jason's & it had a lot of stuff from the US -- including Dr. Pepper! No idea if the Cold Storages around S'pore have increased the amount of American stuff, and Tanglin Market was pretty good back then...but if there's something you are looking for Jason's may have it (if the store still exists :-) ) I have a friend who moved back to S'pore and is getting married next May...maybe I'll be able to fly over -- my husband (who also went to high school there) and I haven't been back since we graduated high school! :-)

  4. We have been kicked out of the band Keith. Guess we'll have to practice on our own....(sad face and sad "Hulk" music as we walk away...)
