This past week really crawled by for us. For one thing, we both have a cold...and its the slowest. moving. cold. ever...but more importantly, it's the week that Keith and Sophie were finally coming to Singapore and we couldn't wait! Last night was THE night so we jumped in a taxi around midnight and waited at the airport for the arrival of our sweet friends. We've missed them so much! We haven't even been with them for a full 24 hours, but somehow we've already managed to see so many things! And...I really need to give them huge kudos b/c you'd have NO idea that they are fresh off of a 24 hour flight across the world just by looking at them. They are totally troopers! In fact, if anyone is acting tired, it's ME, haha! :) Today it was up to me to show Keith and Sophie around as Matt had to work, but starting tomorrow we have Matt for a full 4 days thanks to Chinese New Year! We're off to Bangkok, Thailand tomorrow (at the beautiful hour of 5 a.m....), but I'll surely have more updates for the blog once we return!
Waiting at the airport with a big, fat sign because I'm a big, fat dork...and also, because Matt insisted we do this :)
Hooooray!! They're here!!!
Matt took over the welcome committee :)
In case they forget they're in southeast Asia, we decorated the bedroom for them as a reminder.
Posing with our condo!
Art bridge in Robertson Quay
The cherry blossoms are out for Chinese New Year!
They were obviously excited for the river cruise
Sophie and the merlion, a Singapore "must see!"
Sophie showing off the under construction Marina Bay Sands Casino.
Hmmm...so many options for lunch. Noodles? Rice? Wontons?
Keith was completely perplexed by a piece of trash he found on the ground. Singapore is supposed to be LITTER FREE!!
After lunch it was time for the open-top bus tour of the city :) Does it get more touristy than that? I don't think so!
After a bit of rest, Matt finally got home and we headed out to dinner!
First up...steamed porked dumplings! Yum, yum, YUM!!
The menu clearly states that each dumpling should have "18 exquisite folds" so Keith and Sophie were counting to make sure...if there were 17 folds, we would have sent it back ;)
A cheers with jasmine tea
Keith ordered the "dan dan noodles" but unfortunately, he wasn't a fan of dan or his noodles.
The evening was completed with steamed pork buns. A fabulous meal was had by all! :) Now we're ready to see what adventures Thailand has to offer us...
Glad F.U. arrived safely. Loved the pic of Keith and the trash. Classic. Have fun!
ReplyDeleteAwww, it looks like y'all are having so much fun already!! I'm so jealous...can't wait for your visit back to H-town this summer!!
